On August 1, the 24th Meeting of the China ROK joint economic and Trade Commission was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Li Chenggang, Assistant Minister of Commerce, and Li Chenghao, economic and diplomatic adjustment officer of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Korea, led a delegation to attend and co chair the meeting. The China novel coronavirus pneumonia conference has been held online for the first time since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia. The two sides have exchanged views on the development of Sino ROK economic and trade relations and related regional and multilateral economic and trade cooperation issues in a standardized way to prevent and control the epidemic.  

Li Chenggang said that under the leadership, deployment and command of President Xi Jinping, China has achieved major strategic results in its epidemic prevention and control, and economic development has shown a steady and favorable trend. Pull together in times of trouble since the outbreak of the outbreak, President Xi Jinping and moon Jae in the two telephone call and sent messages and expressions of mutual support. The two countries have enthusiastically contributed money and helped each other, fully reflecting the friendship between the two countries, which is a common cause and a common cause. China and South Korea have taken the lead in opening a "fast track" for important business personnel in the world, which has effectively promoted the resumption of work and production of enterprises on both sides and stabilized the supply chain of industrial chain. The meeting is the first face-to-face intergovernmental economic and trade cooperation mechanism meeting between China and foreign parties in China since the outbreak of the epidemic. It fully reflects the high level of epidemic prevention and control work of the two countries, as well as the high level of cooperation and high degree of mutual trust between the two countries. It will certainly leave a special page in the history of Sino ROK economic and trade relations. China is willing to work closely with the ROK to jointly plan the development direction of bilateral economic and trade cooperation in the post epidemic era, actively promote major bilateral cooperation matters, and push forward the economic and trade relations between China and South Korea to a new level.  

Li Chenghao said that it is of great significance for the two countries to hold the Joint Committee at a special time. South Korea and China are important economic and trade partners. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the governments of South Korea and China have worked hand in hand to help the enterprises of the two countries to resume work and production and stabilize the supply chain of the industrial chain, and achieved remarkable results. The "fast track" between China and South Korea has played a positive role. The ROK side is willing to continue to strengthen communication with China, promote the gradual expansion of bilateral economic and trade exchanges, and create favorable conditions for the recovery and development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.  

One belt, one road, China and South Korea, and the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen international cooperation in anti epidemic efforts, carry out the docking of China’s "one belt initiative" with South Korea’s "New South" and "new North" policy, and jointly compile the joint plan of China South Korea economic and trade cooperation (2021 - 2025), promote the second stage negotiation of Sino Korean FTA, deepen trade and investment cooperation, promote local economic cooperation, and strengthen regional and multilateral frameworks. To promote the signing of RCEP agreement on schedule, promote the negotiation of China Japan ROK free trade agreement, safeguard the multilateral trade system, and promote the construction of an open world economy
